After the storm

Born the "caboose" of eight children in the heart of Southwestern Oklahoma into abject poverty and an alcoholic father, S. E. Cunningham’s life has been defined by the rugged landscapes of the Wichita Mountains and a calling to protect. A veteran 19D Cavalry Scout and former law enforcement officer, he has spent decades operating in the "dead spaces" of the world—from the deserts of Iraq to the front lines of law enforcement.

After a series of profound personal losses and a wilderness journey that took him far from his roots, he experienced a radical spiritual awakening that brought him back to his true Foundation.

One of the greatest gifts a book can offer is the chance to step into someone else’s life—and Stevan has lived several lifetimes in one. In these pages you’ll get hit by a tornado and an earthquake, survive the rigors of boot camp, deploy to Iraq, and step into the high-risk world of undercover narcotics work and wrestle with the shadow of death. It’s a journey through danger, discipline and the faithfulness of God. This book will expand your world.

I highly recommend this book and its author. Testimonies are inspiring and Stevan has a testimony that deserves to be read. When you see someone who has been through things that are worse than you’ve had to deal with, it helps shrink your problems down in size. If the Lord can bring Stevan to where he is today, He can do the same for you.

One of the themes of Stevan’s testimony is the unfailing love and faithfulness of God. Even when it seems like God is far away, He never leaves us or forsakes us and can work any negative thing in your life together for something good, if you allow Him to. It doesn’t happen automatically. You have to co-operate by turning to Him and giving Him a chance. This testimony could be that connection you need to find your own way through your storm.
